Spurs poised to sign Argentine defender

Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be in pole position to secure the services of defender Federico Fazio from Sevilla during the current transfer window.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has shown keen interest in bolstering the club's defensive options, and has already signed the likes of Ben Davies and Eric Dier this summer.

According to The Mirror, the North London outfit look poised to land the signature of the talented centre-back for a fee in the region of £8m.

Spurs currently lead the Premier League standings following their excellent 4-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers last weekend.
