Kagawa to join Dortmund

Manchester United flop Shinji Kagawa will return to his former club Borussia Dortmund, as confirmed by the German club's CEO today. The Japanese international will return to the Bundesliga after two seasons at United.

The playmaker has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League, despite winning the Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson in his first campaign.

It is understood that Dortmund will pay approximately 16 million euros to push through a deal for the Japanese.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said of the transfer: "Shinji Kagawa is a technically highly gifted creative player who can determine the pace of an encounter.

"He wanted [a move] back to Borussia Dortmund and we are sure that with us [he will find] that peace, time and appreciation he needed, after two years of struggle, to reach his best."
