Liverpool plot shock move for goalkeeper Victor Valdes

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes as competition for current first choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Valdes has been out of contract since his release from Barcelona at the end of last season and had hoped to join AS Monaco, but a move to the French club fell through at the last minute.

The Anfield giants are now the newest club to have entered the race for Valdes' signature and Rodgers has reportedly offered Valdes a two year contract worth around 120,000 euros per week.
