Roma line up move for Man City defender

AS Roma are believed to be keen on signing up Serbian international Matija Nastasic from Manchester City during the winter transfer window.

The centre-back has found first-team chances hard to come by since the start of the season, with manager Manuel Pellegrini favouring the likes of Martin Demichelis, Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala in the heart of the defence.

According to The Star, the 21-year-old is disillusioned with life at the Citizens, and will seek a fresh challenge awaw from the Premier League at the start of the New Year.

In addition to this, Roma are willing to offer Nastasic with the escape route, as they plan to strengthen their defensive setup in January.

Nastasic joined City from Fiorentina in the summer of 2012.
