Victor Valdes to join Liverpool this month

Former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes will complete his free transfer to Liverpool this month.

The veteran  shot-stopper left the Catalan giants at the end of last season, and has since then been linked with the likes of AS Monaco and Liverpool.

According to Goal.com, the Spain international will undergo a medical at the Merseyside giants at the end of October before his proposed transfer to the club.

It is understood that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on providing stiff competition to Simon Mignolet for the number one spot.

The 32-year-old is allowed to move outside the transfer window as he is a free agent.
