Dick Advocaat favourite for Newcastle job
Dutch coach Dick Advocaat is now the bookies favourite to take the vacant Newcastle hotseat. The 64-year-old last coached the Serbian national football team.
According to reports, chief scout at Newcastle, Graham Carr, has been given the tough job of finding a replacement for Alan Pardew. Newcastle's former coach moved to join Crystal Palace last week.
Dick Advocaat has an excellent CV having coached at the very highest level and is understood to be the top name on a list of three which also includes former Lyon manager Remi Garde.
Newcastle are also understood to be willing to employ a temporary coach until the summer, when there are one or two other potential targets available, such as Ajax manager Frank de Boer.
