Spurs ready bid for James McCarthy

Tottenham Hotspur are apparently considering a bid for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to a report.

The Republic of Ireland is believed to be considering his future at Goodison Park, having seen the club have a below-par season in the Premier League so far.

Goal.com claims that the 24-year-old is reckoned as a top transfer target for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is keen on bolstering the holding midfield setup this month.

The report adds that Spurs will lodge a bid in the region of £20m for the talented midfield star.

Spurs lie in sixth place in the Premier League.
