No pressure for Man City signing Wilfried Bony
Manchester City's new striker Wilfried Bony is confident that he will take the chance given to him at his new club and make an impression. Bony arrived from Swansea City in a 28 million GBP deal earlier this month.
Bony, who has been on international duty for the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, has the weight of expectation on his shoulders after new manager Manuel Pellegrini forked out a huge fee for the striker.
Bony told reporters: "People say “he won’t play there” But this is football, I’m going to fight.
"There are so many strikers, but at least that the manager wants to pick strikers. So why not me? It was the same before when I came from Holland to Swansea, there was Michu, there were a lot of Spanish players, and it was very difficult to play.
"The most important thing is even if I get five, or ten minutes, or a half, I have to do my best. It was always important for me to get to the top. I’m happy about the expectation, because, yes, I did a great to job before, to get to go to Manchester City. It’s a great challenge for me, but the work I did in the last four years earned it."
