Chiellini to Tottenham?

Giorgio Chiellini has been linked with a move from Juventus to Tottenham as Juande Ramos looks to add defensive reinforcements to his squad. The Italian 23-year old has 9 international caps and was chased by Man City during the summer.

He was signed by Juventus in summer 2004, for €6.5 million, but immediately sold on co-ownership deal to Fiorentina for €3.5 million, where he played for 2004–05 season. Juventus then paid another 4.3 million Euros for full ownership.

Chiellini has since proved himself tobe one of the best young defenders in Serie A, despite not currently getting enough playing time at Juve.

Chiellini extended his original contract from until 2009 to 2011 on October 12, 2006, but Tottenham could be willing to pay up to £7 million to complete the signing of the Italian full back.
