Liverpool want Benteke as Lambert replacement

Liverpool consider Aston Villa's Christian Benteke as one of their top transfer targets for the summer, Metro reports.

The Belgian international has been in top form for the Villans in the Premier League this month, and this has attracted interest from Manchester United in recent weeks.

Metro cites that manager Brendan Rodgers is willing to part with £30m and Rickie Lambert in order to lure the talented marksman to Merseyside this summer.

Benteke joined the Villans from Genk in the summer of 2012.
