Man Utd keen on Bastian Schweinsteiger

Manchester United are interested in signing up Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer.

The World Cup winner is not longer considered as an integral part of the Bayern setup, and could be offloaded at the end of the current campaign.

The Star claims that a senior figure at Old Trafford has admitted of the club's interest in the midfield enforcer.

It is added that Louis van Gaal wants to sign up the 30-year-old in order to provide stiff competition to Michael Carrick in the holding midfield role.
