West Ham want Alex Song on a free transfer

West Ham United are hopeful that they can convince Barcelona to let go of midfielder Alex Song for nothing this summer.

The Hammers are believed to be keen on signing the former Arsenal man following an impressive loan spell at Upton Park last season.

However, his £80000-a-week wages are way beyond their estimates, and the London outfit will be hoping to cancel out the transfer fee.

According to The Sun, the Hammers will look to tempt Barca into offload the midfielder on a free transfer in the upcoming transfer window.
