Alexis Sanchez to miss start of new league season

Chilean international Alexis Sanchez is all set to miss out on the opening weeks of the Premier League due to his involvement in the Copa America.

Sanchez played a crucial role as Chile won their first ever Copa America title against Argentina over the weekend.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had hinted that he could give an extended rest to talented marksman, should Chile go deep in the Copa America.

It is now widely reported that Wenger will manage Sanchez carefully for the first month of the new campaign, just how he did with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski following their World Cup triumph last year.
