Wenger: Clichy is brilliant

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that Gael Clichy is nearly the perfect player after some inspired performances at left back this season. Clichy has filled in for Ashley Cole superbly for the Gunners.

Wenger told L'Equipe: "He assisted Adebayor, after the last one against Everton, which means two in two matches.

"Actually, his improvement has been quite steady. Today we can notice he has no more gaps in his play.

"He is awesome in the quality of his passes, in his long passes, in his technical level. He can get out of any situation.

"I would say now he looks experienced. He really achieved a great last match."
