Jordan Veretout to join Aston Villa?

Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout is expected to fly to England to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move to Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old was in good form for the Ligue 1 side last term, scoring seven goals in 37 games in all competitions.

Tottenham Hotspur were thought to be in the chase for Veretout in recent weeks, but it is the Villains who have sealed the deal for the player's services.

Sky Sports News claims that Nantes have reached an agreement with Aston Villa for the player's sale, and the deal could be confirmed once the player undergoes a series of medical tests.

Veretout could be Villa's third signing of the week, following Jordan Ayew and Jose Angel Crespo.
