Arsenal loan out Jon Toral to Birmingham City

Arsenal have loaned out highly-rated midfielder Jon Toral to Championship side Birmingham City for the upcoming season.

The Gunners activated a clause in the player's contract which extended his stay at the Emirates by another 12 months.

The former Barcelona graduate will spend his second consecutive season in the second tier after turning out for Brentford during the previous campaign.

It is also understood that the Gunners will monitor the youngster's performances before offering him a long-term contract.

Toral scored six goals in 37 outings for the Bees last term.
