Chelsea plot raid for German defender

Chelsea are expected to make a £20m offer for Stuttgart star Antonio Rudiger after they failed in their attempts to sign Everton defender John Stones.

Stones looks unlikely to make way from the Toffees this summer, with manager Roberto Martinez clearly stating that the club will not offload their star asset at any price.

Reports in Germany claim that the Blues will lodge a formal offer of around £20m for Stuttgart centre-back Antonio Rudiger.

It is added that the German international is a huge Arsenal fan, but would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
