Aston Villa land Joleon Lescott

Aston Villa look set to announce the arrival of defender Joleon Lescott after they agreed a £1m fee with West Bromwich Albion for his transfer.

The former England international has been tipped to make way from the Hawthorns following the arrivals of James Chester and Jonny Evans this summer.

Sky Sports News claims that the former Everton star will have a medical today ahead of his £1m switch across the Midlands.

Lescott has earned 26 caps with his national side.
