Jonathan Walters hands in transfer request

Stoke City striker Jonathan Walters has reported handed in a transfer request amid interest from Norwich City.

The Republic of Ireland international is in the final year of his contract at the Potters and has yet to sign a contract extension.

It is now understood that the experienced striker had requested to leave the Britannia Stadium before the closure of the summer transfer window.

Premier League newcomers Norwich City are thought to be open to discussing a cut-price deal for the former Ipswich star.
