Chelsea to hire Brendan Rodgers as interim boss?

Chelsea could offer a temporary deal to former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, should they opt to part ways with Jose Mourinho.

The Northern Irishman has been on the look out for a new club following his release from the Liverpool head coach role earlier this month.

Mourinho has had a dreadful season with the Premier League holders, and the club's hierarchy may well look to appoint a new manager mainly due to his numerous tussles with the Football Association.

It is also known that the 52-year-old would have to come up with a victory over Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool over the weekend to secure his managerial post for the near future.

According to Belfast Telegraph, Rodgers could be offered an interim role at Stamford Bridge, should the West London giants decide to show the exit door to Mourinho.

Blues are currently 15th in the league standings with just 11 points.
