Robin van Persie linked with Premier League return

Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been linked with a sensational move back to the Premier League with Chelsea.

The Netherlands international has had several fall-outs with Fener boss Vitor Pereira this term, and a switch away from Istanbul looks a likely option.

Turkish source Fotomac now understands that the Premier League holders are monitoring proceedings with manager Jose Mourinho keen on recruiting a new striker in the New Year.

It is added that the club could be open to swapping on-loan Monaco striker Falcao for Van Persie.

Spanish giants Barcelona are also known to be considering a short-term move for the 32-year-old marksman.
