Arsenal line up Armando Izzo

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Genoa defender Armando Izzo with a view to a January offer for his services.

The 23-year-old has impressed for the Serie A side, in spite of their lacklustre start to the league campaign.

According to Italian source Secolo XIX, the North Londoners are considering a move for the talented centre-back having had a keen eye on him while playing against against Napoli earlier this month.

It is added that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is eager to land a new centre-back in order to lodge a strong challenge for the league title in the second half of the campaign.

Izzo has made 10 league appearances for his side this season.
