Newcastle United eye Andros Townsend deal
Premier League strugglers Newcastle United are weighing up a bid for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend.
The England international is deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane, and has been often deployed from the substitutes' bench.
According to The Mail, Steve McClaren's side are seemingly confident of luring Townsend to Tyneside with the prospect of regular first-team football up for grabs.
It is added that the Magpies are most likely to offer a six-month loan deal with the prospect of a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.
Townsend has spent as many as nine loan spells away from Spurs in a fluttering career.
