Aston Villa interested in Ashley Cole

Aston Villa are reportedly pursuing a deal for former Arsenal and Chelsea defender Ashley Cole.

The 34-year-old joined Italian side AS Roma from Chelsea in 2014, and has since then been limited to just 16 appearances for the club.

As a result, reports have emerged that the Capital outfit would allow the experienced full-back may way on a free transfer in January.

The Star now reveals that Villa boss Remy Garde could offer a short term deal for the former England international with Jordan Amavi set to miss several months with a knee injury.

Cole has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United.
