Sunderland seal Lamine Kone deal
Premier League strugglers Sunderland have reached an agreement to sign Lorient defender Lamine Kone.
The 27-year-old was expected to secure a fresh challenge in the New Year, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season.
A whole host of clubs were said to be linked with the player's services, but according to L'Equipe, it is the Black Cats who have won the chase.
Kone, a former France youth international, made his full international debut with Ivory Coast last year.
Sam Allardyce's side are currently second last in the Premier League having recouped just 12 points in their 16 league games.
