Aston Villa edge closer to Mathieu Debuchy loan deal

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde is set to announce a loan deal for Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy before the end of the January transfer window. The French full back arrived at the Emirates from Newcastle back in 2014.

The impressive form of Hector Bellerin has reduced Debuchy to a bit part role at the Gunners and now the Frenchman is desperate to get his career back on track with a move elsewhere.

Aston Villa are struggling at the bottom of the Premier League, but manager Remi Garde is confident that signing Debuchy will help their survival efforts.
