Daniel Sturridge to Newcastle United?

Premier League strugglers Newcastle United are planning a surprise move for Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge in the summer.

The Magpies made the most of the winter transfer window as they brought in the likes of Andros Townsend, Henri Saviet and Jonjo Shelvey to boost their survival hopes.

According to The Star, the Magpies could launch a record bid of around £30m to sign the England international next season.

Sturridge is thought to be eyeing a fresh move away from Anfield following regular criticism over his injury record.

The 26-year-old has made just five league appearances for Liverpool this term.
