Chelsea ready Romagnoli bid

Chelsea are ready to make a bid for highly-rated AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to reports.

The Italy under-21 international had been the subject of interest from league rivals Arsenal last summer before he opted to join the Rossoneri.

The 21-year-old has since then put up a stellar show at the San Siro thus earning him plaudits from the club's hierarchy.

According to Calciomercato, the Premier League holders are expected to step up their interest in the young centre-back as they seek to find a replacement for outbound star John Terry.

John Terry's current deal is due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Romagnoli is currently rated at around £30m.
