Arsenal join Saul Niguez chase

Arsenal look set to rival Manchester United in the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez this summer.

The Spain under-21 international is understood to be considering a fresh challenge away from La Liga after Atleti refused to accept to his wage demands.

Manchester United have been keeping tabs on the player's situation in recent weeks, but Spanish sources reveal that Arsene Wenger's side will give a stiff fight in the pursuit of the 21-year-old.

The Red Devils were thought to be close to signing the young playmaker, before Atleti boss Diego Simeone blocked the move

Niguez has made 34 appearances in all competitions for his club this term.
