Mourinho keen on Higuain reunion

Jose Mourinho is eager to bring in Gonzalo Higuain, once he takes over the reigns at Manchester United in the summer. The Portuguese head coach has finalized a three-year contract to replace Louis van Gaal at the helm.

Higuain had been associated with a switch to the Premier League before he opted to join Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013. Since then, he has been a key performer for the Italian side, but the lack of progress is said to have ignited his desire for a new challenge.

The Mirrors says the Special One is confident of taking charge of United this summer, and has already lined up a £70m bid for Argentine ace Higuain.

Should the move go through, it will break the British transfer record previously held by Angel di Maria's £59.7m arrival to United from Real Madrid in 2014.

Higuain has netted 34 goals in all competitions for Napoli this season.
