Everton approach Jose Mourinho
Everton are known to have made contact with Jose Mourinho over the vacant managerial post. The Portuguese head coach is still in the dark over his future with Manchester United reluctant to appoint him as their next boss.
The 'Special One' had been earlier tipped to take over the reigns at Old Trafford with Louis van Gaal under immense pressure to perform.
However, things look to have calmed down at United in recent weeks and the club's hierarchy are in no hurry to evaluate Van Gaal's position.
The Times reports that the Toffees are eager to take advantage of the situation and have already held initial talks with the former Chelsea boss.
It will be interesting to see whether the 53-year-old favours a move to Merseyside with shareholder Farhad Moshiri willing to offer a £120m kitty to spend on transfers this summer.
Everton have had a dismal season in the league and currently find themselves 12th with 44 points.
