With Jose Mourinho’s appointment imminent as Manchester United Manager and his first signing looking likely to be the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the rumour mill will be whirring in to action as to who the Lisbon born manager will sign next as he looks to make the Manchester Giants a force to reckoned with once again.

Rumours in early March were that Aubameyang was a target for the Old Trafford club with a 70 Million Euro price tag being thrown around and that a summer move was becoming a real possibility.

Ed Woodward is said to be ready to hand the Portuguese coach a £200 million war chest to try and restore United to their previous role as Englands top club and add to the FA Cup LVG won recently.

Mourinho is said to be keen on the Gabon international striker and tried to sign him when Real Madrid Manager but the board didn’t want to upset the volatile Benzema by signing another top striker.

The Dortmund forward joining Manchester United would be a real statement of intent to their local rivals Manchester City who have been linked with Aubameyang and their new coach Pep Guardiola  is said to be an admirer of the Laval born striker from his time in charge of Dortmund rivals Bayern.

Arsenal and Chelsea would of course be interested in signing the former Milan and Saint-Étienne goalscorer as well but the 70m euro plus a contract of upwards of €5 million a year may make United favourites to seal the deal.
