United place Schweinsteiger on transfer market

Manchester United will look to cash in on the services of Bastian Schweinsteiger just a year after his arrival from Bayern Munich. The German midfielder surprised one and all when he opted to end his 17-year association to head to Old Trafford last summer.

However, things have not fared well for him at Manchester with injuries and lack of fitness denting his chances of featuring on a regular basis in the first-team.

According to The Mirror, the Mancunian giants are ready to offload the World Cup winner this summer with manager Jose Mourinho deeming the player surplus to requirements.

United will look to recoup at least fifty-percent of the £6.5m fee paid to bring him in last year.
