Arsenal to miss out on Jamie Vardy?

England international Jamie Vardy seems to have stalled on negotiations over a move to Arsenal. The Gunners were speculated to be close to signing the striker after they triggered the £20m release clause in his contract.

The Mirror says the Gunners hierarchy are fearful that the player could remain at the King Power Stadium after he refused to reply to the club's proposal before heading to France for the European championships.

It is also thought that Claudio Ranieri's side have offered a new bumper contract to the Englishman in a bid to increase his present escape clause.

Vardy netted 24 goals for the Foxes during the previous campaign as they went on to lift their first-ever league title.
