Southampton slap £40m price on Liverpool target

Southampton are set to keep hold of Senegalese winger Sadio Mane for the summer unless any club matches their £40m asking price. The 24-year-old is the priority target for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Mane has been a key performer for the Saints since his move from Red Bull Salzburg in 2014, and this has caught the radar of top European sides.

According to The Sun, the managerless club are willing to cash in their star asset only if they receive a £40m bid for his services.

The talented attacker was a menace in the Saints attack during the second half of last season, and this earned them a Europa League qualification spot. He also ended up being his side's top scorer wih 15 goals in all competitions.
