Barcelona in Cesar Azpilicueta chase

Barcelona are planning a summer approach for Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta, The Spaniard has been identified a potential replacement for outbound star Dani Alves.

The Catalan giants are on the search for a new right-sided defender after Alves agreed to join Juventus on a free transfer.

Spanish source AS claims that Barca will make their move for Azpilicueta next month with former graduate and preferred target Hector Bellerin to stay put at Arsenal.

The 26-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks but the chance of playing in his homeland may well lure him to the La Liga holders.

Azpilicueta, who is currently valued at £14m, appeared in 38 games for the Blues last season.
