Barcelona target Matteo Darmian

Barcelona are set to battle it out with Juventus for the services of Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian this summer. The Italy international has been tipped to make way from Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho seeks to rebuild his backline ahead of the new season.

A report from TMW says the Catalan giants are looking into a move for the 26-year-old, who is well versed playing across the defence.

Luis Enrique's side currently have a void in the right-back position after long serving player Dani Alves opted to join Juventus on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, United boss Jose Mourinho is pushing for the Italian to join the Old Lady as part of a deal which could Paul Pogba return to Manchester next season.

Darmian appeared in 39 games for the Red Devils after his switch from Torino last year.
