Juventus offer Pogba new contract to ward off Man Utd interest

Paul Pogba news

Pogba could yet snub United move in favour of new contract with Juventus

Juventus have offered Paul Pogba a bumper new deal to remain at the Turin club, according to the player's agent Mino Raiola.

The Times are reporting today that Pogba, a summer transfer target of new Manchester United boss José Mourinho, has been offered a new contract by Juventus, as the Italian champions remain resolute in their stance that the player will not be sold this summer.

There is a lot of talk about Paul’s future, but maybe he will not leave Juventus,” Raiola told the Times.

“He is in no rush to leave, and Juventus do not want him to go. They want him to renew his contract.

“Paul is not desperate to move. We are very happy at Juventus and they are a club that want to keep their star players."

It was reported last week that Real Madrid have withdrawn themselves from the running to sign Pogba, feeling that they are unable to compete with the kind of figures on offer from Manchester United.

It was also recently reported that United had agreed terms with Pogba via his agent, and a bid of around €120 million was to be launched imminently.

It now appears that Raiola is hedging his bets, with the possibility that the 23-year-old could remain with the Bianconeri.

Raiola himself would benefit from a clause that he had inserted into Pogba's contract upon his signing for the Old Lady four years ago, entitling him to a sizable percentage of any future transfer fee.

It is said that if the United move goes through, Raiola will be due around €25 million.
