Arsenal step up Mauro Icardi interest
Arsenal have revived their interest in Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi as they look to bring in a new striker to their ranks this summer. The Argentine is available for a fee of around £30m.
The Gunners have began talks with Icardi's representatives after being priced of their chase for Napoli frontman Gonzalo Higuain, Sky Italia claims.
It is added that the Nerazzurri have placed their club-captain in the transfer market in a bid to fund moves for the likes of Joao Mario and Antonio Candreva.
Icardi has previously highlighted his desire to feature for a Champions League club, and this could simplify the Gunners' pursuit for the highly-rated forward.
Despite his prowess at club level, Icardi has yet to make a mark with the Argentine national side.
The 23-year-old has notched over 50 goals for Inter since his switch from Sampdoria in 2013.
