Everton to swoop for Rui Patricio?
Everton are preparing a potential bid for Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio. The 28-year-old was highly influential for Portugal during their Euro 2016 triumph earlier this month.
Patricio was named as the best keeper at the European championships as his nation went on to beat hosts France in the finals.
A report from The Sun claims that the Toffees are weighing up a formal approach for Patricio after he expressed his desire to join a Premier League club this summer.
Sporting have currently placed a £6m price tag on the player's head, and this is likely to attract interest from several other English clubs.
Ronald Koeman's side have already recruited Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham to bolster their goalkeeping ranks for next season.
Patricio has appeared in over 30 games in each of his last nine seasons at the Lisbon giants.
