United are reportedly set to launch a bid for Fabinho

Manchester United could be about to make a €30 million bid for Monaco's Brazilian full-back Fabinho, according to reports in France.

The Red Devils are currently working hard on a potential world record move to bring Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford, but it seems they also have other business on their mind.

New manager José Mourinho is thought to be keen on Monaco's Fabinho, and a €30 million offer could soon be made.

Fabinho has been at Monaco since 2013, however he only signed for the Ligue 1 club permanently last summer, following two successful season long loan deals from Portuguese club Rio Ave.

Prior to joining Monaco, Fabinho also spent a season on loan with Real Madrid, but the Brazilian only made one senior appearance for Los Blancos, and featured predominently for the European champions' B team.

In typical Brazilian full-back style, Fabinho loves to get forward and join the attack. Last season he netted eight goals -- all of which were scored from the penalty spot -- and registered four assists.

But in addition to his attacking prowess, the 6ft 2in defender is positionally aware and responsible defensively, and on the rare occasions he is caught out of position, his electric pace enables him to recover.

Though Fabinho's preferred position is at right-back, he has also played as a central defensive midfielder for Monaco.

United's pursuit of Fabinho would likely mean that Mourinho has judged one of Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia or Phil Jones to be surplus to requirements.
