Mkhitaryan wants titles with Man Utd

Mkhitaryan set ambitious target at Man Utd

Manchester United new boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan has outlined his desire to win medals with his new club.

The 27-year-old playmaker signed for the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund for a fee in the region of £27 million last month.

Speaking ahead of United's fixture against his old club in China on Friday, Mkhitaryan expressed that his team are going to "try to do everything to win titles."

Mkhitaryan was in outstanding form for BVB last season, scoring more than 20 goals in all competitions and laying on more assists than any other Bundesliga player with 15.

The Armenian midfielder had one year left on his contract at Signal Iduna Park and, despite being unable to agree an extension, the German club wanted to hang on to Mkhitaryan next season.

But the player, via his agent Mino Raiola, agitated for his "dream move" to Manchester United, and after much discussion and negotiation, Mkhitaryan became a United player.

The Red Devils have also signed Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, but new manager José Mourinho isn't ready to close the chequebook just yet.

A potentially world record breaking move for Paul Pogba is reportedly close to completion.

Talks between United and Juventus took place yesterday, with the Italian champions rejecting the Old Trafford club's opening offer of €100m. But with Pogba having made the Bianconeri aware of his desire to rejoin United, Juve have demanded €120m for the player, with United thought to be ready to match that figure.
