Romelu Lukaku destined to join Chelsea

Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks with Everton to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. The 23-year-old has highlighted his desire to win trophies at a top European club.

Lukaku joined the Toffees from the Blues on loan in 2013, before making the move a permanent one in the season which followed.

The Belgian has been a key player for the Merseyside outfit in recent seasons, but the lack of progress in the league has made him a frustrated figure at Goodison Park.

Everton have recently turned down a £57m offer from the Blues, but according to The Mirror, the West London outfit are confident of negotiating an improved sum for the player.

Should things go as planned, Diego Costa is likely to earn his much-needed move back to Atletico Madrid.

Lukaku has amassed 61 goals in all competitions for Everton.
