Besiktas eye Christian Benteke deal
Besiktas eye Christian Benteke deal
Besiktas are hoping to strike a deal with Liverpool for unsettled striker Christian Benteke. The Belgian had a poor debut season with the Reds.
Benteke, 25, is currently on the fringes of the first-team, and could leave the Reds before the close of the transfer window.
Turkish source Spor Haber says Besiktas have tabled a £20m offer for the player as they bid to strengthen their squad ahead of their title defence next season.
However, the Reds have swiftly rebuffed the approach as it is well below their valuation for their asset.
Jurgen Klopp's side are looking to recoup as much of the £32m fee paid to Aston Villa last summer, and have previously turned a £30m bid from Crystal Palace.
Besiktas will now come up with a loan offer for Benteke with a view to paying out his asking price in 12 months' time.
