Pogba's new Man Utd squad number confirmed
Paul Pogba will wear the number 6 jersey at Manchester United this season, following his world record breaking move to Old Trafford from Juventus.
The talented French midfielder's spectacular return to United was confirmed via the Red Devils' official Twitter account in the early hours of this morning.
In conjunction with sponsors Adidas, who are also one of Pogba's personal sponsors, United have released a string of promotional images and videos designed to maximise the hype surrounding the 23-year-old's return to the club after leaving as a teenager in 2012.
One such photo sees Pogba wearing a United shirt with the number 6 printed on the back, confirming, as thought, that the new signing will wear that number this season.
United have shelled out a world record £89 million fee for Pogba, which could yet rise even further depending on some conditional add-ons.
The monumental fee eclipses the previous record sum of £85.3 million that Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
Pogba has become new United manager José Mourinho's fourth summer signing, following the arrivals of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal for £30 million, Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer after his Paris Saint Germain contract expired, and £32 million attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.
It is now believed that Mourinho will focus on selling some of the players who do not figure in his plans for the new season, with Bastian Schweinsteiger, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo all potentially available for transfer.
