Mascherano to Serie A?
Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano could be set for a move to Serie A. Juventus and Inter Milan are both interested in the Argentinian who has yet to secure a deal at Anfield because the Reds are not prepared to pay the asking fee for his permanent signature.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez is desperate to add the midfielder to his ranks on a permanent basis but he needs £17m to do it and so far the owners of the club have appeared reluctant to release that sort of money.
Mascherano's loan move from West Ham comes to an end in the summer and now his agent says he is likely to be moving to Italy where both AC Milan and Juventus are showing an interest.
Walter Tamer, Mascherano's agent, said: "Liverpool have not made any offer at all to buy Javier and it is likely that he will go to Italy next season."
