Mourinho changes mind on Mata and Blind

Juan Mata news

Mourinho has change of heart over Mata and Blind

The recent performances of Juan Mata and Daley Blind have convinced José Mourinho that the pair should remain at Manchester United this season, according to reports.

Journalist Duncan Castles, who is known to have close ties to Mourinho's camp, is reporting today that, having been impressed by the recent performances of Juan Mata and Daley Blind, the Portuguese coach will no longer be considering selling either player.

Recent reports have linked Mata and Blind with moves away from Old Trafford, with potential moves to Everton and Inter Milan respectively.

And it was believed that Mourinho was open to the idea of parting ways with the pair, deeming them to be surplus to requirements with neither figuring heavily in his plans for the Old Trafford club.

But apparently that has now changed, following back to back impressive displays in wins over Premier League champions Leicester City in the Community Shield and Bournemouth away in the Red Devils' opening league fixture of the new season yesterday.

Mata was rumoured to be considering his options following Mourinho's arrival at Old Trafford this summer, after the Portuguese had sold Mata while at Chelsea in 2014. The situation was further execerbated by Mourinho's decision to substitute the Spaniard in the closing minuted of the Community Shield, despite Mata having only come on as a sub earlier in the game.

But a goal and a solid perfromance against Bournemouth has convinced Mourinho that Mata should be retained.
