Chelsea confirm David Luiz agreement

Chelsea has reportedly reached an agreement to re-sign former player David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian will now undergo a medical test before agreeing terms over a long-term contract.

Luiz, 29, emerged as a surprise option for the Blues yesterday after they failed to get in deals for their previous targets.

Kalidou Koulibaly was the initial choice for the West London giants before Napoli placed a hefty £60m price tag on his head.

Meanwhile, they also failed in their attempts to sign Alessio Romagnoli with AC Milan deeming the player indispensable to the club.

Luiz, who left the Blues two years ago, has seen his position come under scrutiny at Les Parisiens this season, and this seems to have lured him back to his former club.

The Blues have agreed to pay a fee in excess of £32m for the centre-half, who was a fan favourite during his first stint at Stamford Bridge.
