Arsenal ready fresh deal for Laurent Koscielny
Arsenal are prepared to offer a fresh contract to French centre-back Laurent Koscielny. The defender had attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich this summer, and this has urged the Gunners to prolong the player's stay.
According to SFR Sport, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is hoping to tie Koscielny for the long-term as he is key to the club's title ambitions.
The North London giants have been reluctant to offer long-term deals to players aged over 30, and this was the reason why Bacary Sagna left for Manchester City on a free two years ago.
However, this stance may be lifted on fellow countrymate Koscielny, who has transformed into a leader of the club's backline.
Koscielny has appeared in exactly 250 games for Arsenal since moving from Lorient in 2010. He currently has just 10 months left on his existing contract.
