Barcelona to bid £50m for Marquinhos
Barcelona will lodge a fresh £50m bid for Marquinhos when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. The Brazilian has become a key player for Paris Saint-Germain following David Luiz's departure to Chelsea this summer.
The 22-year-old was the subject of a £40m bid from Barcelona in the transfer window, but Les Parisiens were reluctant to sell with David Luiz having already held negotiations over a return to Stamford Bridge.
French source L'Equipe claims that the Catalan giants will look to test Les Parisiens' resolve in January with a renewed £50m offer for the centre-half.
Marquinhos has previously iterated that he is content plying his trade at Parc des Princes, but the option of plying his trade with a much bigger side in Barcelona may be too good ignore for the player.
Unai Emery's side seem to have an ideal replacement for the Brazilian in Presnel Kimpembe, who has made his mark for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
